The boys' careers began in 2010 when they auditioned for the X-Factor and throughout the show, ended up being placed in a band by Simon Cowell. The band members consisted of Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Over the course of 5 years, the band went on 4 world tours and released 5 albums. Sadly, in March of 2015, Zayn Malik left the band in the middle of a world tour due to suffering from mental illness. The four boys continued to make music together, until the following year when they decided to go on an 18-month-hiatus. It has now been almost 5 years since the boys performed with one another, with no end of the hiatus in sight. Join me in prayer that the boys will unite once again in the near future for the better of humanity.
In 2017, Harry began working on his solo career, as he released his first album as a solo artist with a self title: "Harry Styles." After going on tour with this album, he took a step into the acting world, and starred in Christopher Nolan's film, "Dunkirk." Soon after the wrap of this movie, Harry began writing, and quickly released his second solo album, Fine Line. Due to current times, his tour for this album has been postponed until 2021.
Louis began his solo career in 2016 with the release of the single, "Just Hold On," with Steve Aoki. As Louis has released multiple singles, he did not release an album until January 31st, 2020, named "Walls." Louis has planned to go on a world tour for this album beginning in February 2021.
Niall began his solo career in 2016, with the single, "This Town." This release was quickly followed by his album, "Flicker," which was published October 20th, 2017. After he went on tour for this album, he began releasing more singles, such as Nice to Meet Ya and Put A Little Love On Me, and soon after, gave the album, "Heartbreak Weather" to his fans March 13th, 2020.
As Zayn left the band before the decision of the hiatus took play, he began his solo career a few months sooner than the other members, releasing his first single, Pillowtalk, February 3rd, 2016. This was quickly followed by the release of his album, Mind of Mine on March 25th, 2016. After this, Zayn laid low for a bit and did not release another solo, called "Better," single until September 25th, 2020.
After the announcement of the hiatus, Liam took a small break from writing music until 2017 when he released his first song, "Strip That Down," featuring Quavo, May 18th, 2017. He then worked on singles with other artists, but did not release his first solo album until December 6th, 2019. In the midst of the pandemic, Liam has been incredibly active on his social media accounts, holding virtual concerts over Instagram.
